The US DOJ COPS Office each year awards Community Policing Development (CPD) Microgrants to agencies which apply through their grants program. This prestigious program of the US DOJ COPS Office awards grants to agencies to who propose innovative community policing strategies which build trust and relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Other Federal funding sources include the Collaborative Reform Initiative Technical Assistance Center (CRI-TAC). This innovative program is offered in partnership with the Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and implemented under the leadership of the IACP and with eight of the other leading law enforcement agencies from across the county. And the US DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance National Training and Technical Assistance Center (BJA NTTAC) assists agencies with requests for funding, about which more can be found here: NTTAC.
