The TRUST Network The TRUST Network is a first-of-its-kind Early Warning-Early Response (EWER) system deploying mediators to help reduce election-related violence in hot spots around the county during and after the U.S. 2020 elections. Using conflict analysis and digital mapping from decades of experience solving the world’s most difficult conflicts, the EWER is identifying when and where conflicts may be imminent or underway. Then, through the Network’s local partners and community mediation centers, trained mediators can go to those hotspots to communicate calming, accurate information, as well as perform intervention and de-escalation. To identify these mediators, special high-visibility vests will be worn signaling their presence. Use of the term “Mediator” printed on the vests is meant to ensure that the public understands TRUST Network members are trained conflict resolution.
